The Chestnut Hill Gallery is a thriving art gallery and full-service custom framing center located in the heart of Chestnut Hill’s historic district. We are thrilled to represent over 40 local, national and international artists offering a diverse and rich collection of landscapes, urbanscapes, and still lives from the realist to impressionist traditions. Many of our artists are well-established from the critically acclaimed British artist David Hyde to Chestnut Hill’s own Paul Rickert and John Lear, but we are equally committed to maintaining a vital relationship with the emerging Philadelphia artist community.

  Tom Steigerwald's Secret Garden: A Season to Remember
  
  Join us for the reception on Saturday, 5/12 where the appetizers, vino, music and camaraderie will abound. The Liebesfreud String Quartet will perform from 6-7:30. All works on exhibit will be available for purchase.
  
  The Chestnut Hill Gallery is honored to present the extraordinary botanical works of late Philadelphia artist Tom Steigerwald. Steigerwald (1945-2011), a Philadelphia native, known for his beautiful trompe l'oeil botanical paintings, created his mural-like masterpieces on Masonite, not a square or rectangle canvas, but a series of pieces cut into flowers and leaf forms then painted to give depth, life and movement.
  
  Steigerwald, a Tyler School of Art Graduate taught drawing and anatomy at both Moore College of Art and Drexel University. His works are widely collected and he has exhibited at the Whitney Museum of Art and the Aldrich Art Museum. He has been featured in many publications including the Philadelphia Inquirer. His larger-than-life works, featuring the flowers and plants he loved, will be on display at the Chestnut Hill Gallery from May 5th through the 26th in a show curated by Gallery Director, Joseph Borrelli and Tom's wife, Patrice Steigerwald.

Tom Steigerwald was known for his large-scale and realistic botanical paintings that bring the flowers he so loved out of the garden and into the gallery. This exhibition, presented by Steigerwald's wife, Patrice, in memory of the great local artist, will feature this stunning works.
