The American Color Print Society presents The Spring Members Exhibition Reception

Reception: March 10th, 2012 6 - 8 pm
Exhibit: March 3 - 24

The Chestnut Hill Gallery is proud to present the Annual American Color Print Society Spring Members Exhibition

The American Color Print Society was founded in 1939 in Philadelphia, PA. At that time, the typical print was a black and white etching, with very little chance of a color print passing a jury. In 1940, 85 artist members staged the first National Color Print Exhibition at the Philadelphia Print Club, now The Print Center. These artists opened printmaking to color and encouraged experimentations which today has become part of American Art tradition: the use of color in lithography, block printing, etching, intaglio, monotype and computer art; and creativity has been further extended to materials and techniques in multiple combinations.

The 74th ACPS annual members' exhibition showcases the member artists from a national perspective, as well as the Philadelphia area; exhibited artwork will arrive from all areas of the United States

The Chestnut Hill Gallery is honored to be hosting the American Color Print Society's Annual Members' Reception once again
